Some of the most well-known people in country music were on hand as the 57th annual CMA Awards ceremony began on Wednesday night at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Earlier that day, however, on ABC’s Good Morning America, Hardy and Lainey Wilson took home prizes for CMA Musical Event of the Year and CMA Music Video of the Year for their work on “wait in the truck.”
From the heart of Nashville, GMA’s Lara Spencer broke the story live while CMA Awards hosts Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning gave an exclusive look behind the scenes.
Wilson led all artists in the number of nominations she received for the 2023 CMA Awards.
She was nominated for numerous awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year for “Heart Like a Truck,” and Album of the Year for Bell Bottom Country.
In addition to Jelly Roll and Kane Brown’s wife, Katelyn Brown, this year’s nominations included Tracy Chapman, whose song “Fast Car” from 1988 was revived when it was performed by Luke Combs.
Chapman’s “Fast Car” is nominated for two Grammys: Single of the Year and Song of the Year.
