Against Young Boys of Switzerland, Manchester City cruised to a 3-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola chose to chance playing Erling Haaland for the game after the striker was subbed off early at the weekend.

Success was assured when the Norwegian scored the game’s first goal via a penalty kick after Matheus Nunes was fouled inside the penalty area.

City never appeared threatened, and when Phil Foden finished off a Jack Grealish cross with a beautiful finish for City’s second goal, the game was over for the home team.

The visitors’ night became even worse when Sandro Lauper was sent off for collecting two yellow cards, but Haaland got the final say.

He added City’s third with a beautiful shot that sailed into the air and into the top corner from the edge of the box.
